Kaito Voyager Pro KA600 Emergency NOAA Voyager Manual Radio(Solar/Dyno/Battery)During any type of emergency situation, information is the best thing to have so you can confidently manage your situation. The Kaito Voyager Pro KA600 Manual radio allows you to collect information, no matter your location or situation. This radio gives you a few ways to run this piece of equipment. You can use batteries, but we all know most people aren't great when it comes to rotating them to keep them fresh. Fortunately, this radio offers other charging options. The radio has a built-in dyno system so you can recharge the internal battery just by cranking the handle. If you have kids, I would play a game of how long you can crank the handle. For the battery to store the energy created by the turning action, you must turn the power select switch to the 'solar/crank' setting and in the back where the USB port is located you must make sure the in/out switch is in the 'in' position. This allows power to enter the unit. The radio also has a solar cell that can collect power directly from the sun. This solar cell is small so you will be able to charge your radio but it will take days to fully charge a dead battery. To use the solar function you must turn the power select switch to the solar/crank setting and in the back where the USB port is located you must make sure the in/out switch is in the 'in' position. The radio also comes with a wall power plug so no matter what is going on, you can make this radio work. The radio gives you the ability to listen to FM/AM radio channels and also to NOAA weather channels. The NOAA broadcast system keeps you informed of any weather and emergency conditions in your area. The radio is set up to search out 7 different weather band channels, so no matter where you are you should be able to switch channels and pick up your local announcements. So you should be able to stay informed in any emergency with all the functions this radio gives you. The only downfall of this radio is that you can’t broadcast. The other functions this radio has are a flashlight and a work light . You also can recharge your smaller devices like your cell phone. The best advice I would give you is to store an extra cell phone charging cable that fits all the cell phones you might want to charge. When charging your devices you need to switch the in/out switch to out, allowing power to leave the radio to charge your device. From the Manufacturer: We have your Emergency Prepper Communication Needs covered.
